Those who are law abiding citizens of that state, who choose to stay there despite the illegal bonanza and anemic freedoms, I see them as enablers of California gluttony.

To that extent, those who left that state and have moved on have indeed helped not only themselves, but Californians left behind as well, since little by little the funds from law abiding citizens that were sunk into the bottomless pit are replaced with illegals and enormous increases in unfunded liabilities. They'll be able to run the engine in the red only for so long, then, it'll be diet time. Think of all the excess skin left behind though , using "600 lb life" analogy...


Side note,

What if you apply for the carry permit, are denied the permit due to some anti-2A rubbish reason, and then you are either robbed, wounded, killed etc.

Now that the echo is for citizens to defend themselves due to the response delays (probably caused by police budget cuts to subsidize illegals in my opinion), I can imagine that the family might have a chance to pursue litigation against the county.

ACLU ought to be all over this...

Most of the noise is from people wanting to blame guns for violence and to ban them.
But I think most of the gun owners in California are just staying quiet.

CA residents can obtain a CCW there you just have to live in the right county. It is up to the county Sheriff if they want to issue the permits. I had mine there for a number of years. It's good throughout the whole state not just the county issued in. But we were told that "You probably don't want to get caught with it in San Fransisco because while legal, the cops with hold you up for about and hour trying everything to find something you did wrong short of a full body cavity search" said the class instructor. Apparently he has heard stories.

I think they've already had that event with two terrorists in San Bernadino. Fourteen dead and 22 injured is catastrophic in my book, but I think the state is too far gone for any hope of change.

I am not trying to diminish the deaths and injuries in San Bernadino, but in the overall scheme of things the attack was small.
I am thinking more along the lines of the World Trade Center or even more.

I understand what you mean. There was great potential for much more serious consequences, if their explosive devices had functioned, but obviously wouldn't rise to the level you're speaking of. I know there are many in California that don't proscribe to the liberal leanings of many of the powers that be.
