Thank you Joe! I'm really enjoying this project and it's starting to get lots of support from the community. I know it is not a solution to Veteran Homelessness, but it's something I can do now while I continue my education so I can do more.joe817 wrote:Well done T.T. !!
I pray your story goes viral on FB, YouTube and wherever else it can be viewed. Thank you for doing this for our Veterans!
Will do. We haven't gotten enough materials yet to do one completely from uniforms, but we are using them as accents in the one we're making now. I'll post it before the 24th.Skiprr wrote:Be sure to post a photo here of one or two of the first quilts when finished. I think that might give folks a better idea of the materials you need. And besides, I wanna see one.

I'm so excited! I never thought we'd get such overwhelming support for this project but I'm so happy to see others coming forward to show support for the true American heroes.
Awesome news TT!!
Let us know when and where it will air. That will really help get more support.!!
Got them today! Thank you so much; can't wait to make a quilt with the patches on it. It will be so cool! We really appreciate the help Skiprr.Skiprr wrote:Items inbound.TexasTornado wrote:Yey it's official we have our PO Box!!!

Awesome! We should have the first one done somewhere around the end of this month (depending on when the uniforms we're expecting arrive). Once we can get that one up it should be easier to see what we're doing and decide the best way to get other quilters involved. I'm so glad to see such a positive response to this project, and to aiding our Veterans. I knew we had an awesome group here!MommaBear wrote:I'm a quilter too. I'd be happy to help piece or quilt. Don't have a long arm. I either use my regular sewing machine or hand quilt. I do a lot of hand quilting.
It's our pleasure. Quilts are so steeped in military tradition and made with so much care and love that it seemed like the perfect combination. We use a twin size winter weight batting so they should be very warm during the winter and be able to be hung for shelter from the sun in the summer.joe817 wrote:What a kind and wonderful thought!
Our homeless Veterans, deserve more than what they are getting for sure. I'll check my sources for militaria and see what I can come up with. Thank you for thinking of our Veterans.
