Without social media, Trump would have likely lost the election. I think social media can be incredibly harmful to the fabric of society, but if we refuse to engage and use it, we will for sure lose the country. It's THAT important.
Exactly. Trump even mentioned that in his interview on 60 Minutes last night. He said that his use of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and his massive following on them, was part of why he won.

Re: Bad SMU Bad

I'm going to try to keep the rage out of my words; wish me luck. If I break some forum rule, please delete this post.

Their attitude is that honoring fallen police officers is insensitive to black people. This implies several things, the most horrible of which is that all black people kill police officers. Taking it down a notch, it at the very least implies that the police and the black population are opposed to one another, and that their interests are mutually exclusive. Both of the implications are obviously and fundamentally untrue. Perpetuating this mindset is morally reprehensible. Creating an "us versus them" attitude between the black community and law enforcement is irresponsible, divisive, inflammatory, and most of all racist.

They actually think honoring a police officer who died while protecting a group protesting police officers is racially insensitive? What do they think implying that the people he was protecting that day would be offended by honoring his sacrifice on their behalf is? I don't think I can continue while remaining civil. Someone else feel free to pick up where I'm leaving off. My hands are shaking too much to type.
