Application submitted online 7/13
Fingerprints taken at IdentoGo 7/14
LTC class taken 7/16
CHL 100 submitted online 7/17

Status changed on 7/26
Application : Received
Fingerprints : Under review
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport Photo Holder (Out of State Only) : Received
Photo (Out of State Only) : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
License To Carry A Handgun : Print pending completion of application review

Just waiting and checking daily now lol. Hopefully something happens soon.

As of 8-13-16, before their site went under maintenance, was still at fingerprints/bg under review. Crazy to see all these applicants who completed after me get theirs issued before me, some barely even two weeks later...Anyone have a clue why some people, myself included, are having their fingerprints under review for so long?
I can speak to one situation that seems to really speed up the process. Active or Honorable discharged military with a DD214 submitted not only waives the fee but they almost always get processed faster. When I submitted my application at the beginning of the year it took 75 days. My son who is currently in the National Guard changed to print pending in less than 2 weeks.

Just what I know of..

Time to stalk Mr. Postman...
My wife just called and my LTC came in the mail today... Good luck gentlemen,
It sounds as though the recent rash of people (myself included) calling on their Reps and the Governor has lit a fire under the RSD wing. I can only hope the the recent applications will be more in line with the Statutes.

I am out of here gentlemen and ladies... :thewave

I chose to contact my representative. No response...
I then chose to contact the Governor's office. 2 days of silence and then an email. Email stated that they would have someone from DPS contact me. I received that email this morning. This afternoon I received a call. Apparently they are working my app in the immediate time frame. Could be done next week?
Met me know WHAT inmediate is to you. I got a call and was told 2-4 WEEKS till they TOUCH it!!
I was told the they were going to process it that day and possibly plastic in hand this week.

I am not holding my breath.

Re: "Waiting Room"

I have read the statute and Have seen the references to 60 and 180 days.

I HAVE YET TO SEE where it states that these are Business days.

I have heard that RSD considers it Business days. But can someone point out to me where the statute is referring to business days?

That would help to clarify SOME of the timelines.

Thank you,

Trying to be patient.. Currently at my 54th statute day... Or 34 RSD Days....

Actually, the Gov Code Sec 411.176(d) gives them 180 days to process your application.
Technically only after proper notification. They must give written notification at the 60th day mark.

"The department shall, not later than the 60th day after the date of the receipt by the director's designee of the completed application materials:
(1) issue the license;
(2) notify the applicant in writing that the application was denied:
(A) on the grounds that the applicant failed to qualify under the criteria listed in Section 411.172;
(B) based on the affidavit of the director's designee submitted to the department under Section 411.176(c); or
(C) based on the affidavit of the qualified handgun instructor submitted to the department under Section 411.188(k); or
(3) notify the applicant in writing that the department is unable to make a determination regarding the issuance or denial of a license to the applicant within the 60-day period prescribed by this subsection and include in that notification an explanation of the reason for the inability and an estimation of the amount of time the department will need to make the determination."
