If you are tired of getting the run around from DPS email your state representative, I read somewhere on this forum that DPS does not like having state representatives poking their noses in DPS' business. It worked for me.

This is the example of the email I used to get this done. Just change the name and the dates to your needs.
Dear Representative <Name>,
I am writing to you in hopes that you can provide assistance with finding out the status of my License to Carry application. I applied for my license on <date>, on <date> I received a confirmation email from RDS. Fast forward to <date> I called RDS for a status update and was told it was to early for a status update, I understood because the conformation email said 6 weeks. I called again on <date> and was told RDS was waiting for the background check to return. Called again on <date>, I was told that the license went to print. I called back the following Thursday <date>, I was told they had not even started to process my application.
Since I am approaching 9 weeks I feel it necessary to reach out to you for your assistance.
