I have learned over the years small credit unions and banks literally just make up rules as they go. It seems the smaller the bank the worse is it sometimes with their made up rules. I even printed out the actual laws before and took them to the bank and they still didnt care. I had problems making larger purchases where the bank wouldn't raise my check card limits and also access a safety deposit box one time. After days of fighting with them I was able to close all my accounts and got a couple relatives to close their accounts also. I refuse to ever give them another penny out of principle.
