So far I have not talked to anyone higher than the supervisor. The only thing anyone from Austin has told me is that they are "waiting on the FBI to clear the fingerprints." I plan to call again today after lunch time.

I'd put money on the fact that your are a victim of their "IT issue" as I am. I called 3 times yesterday before I got a straight answer. Essentially this "IT issue" means they lost your fingerprints in the database; your prints didn't get attached to your application properly. It takes WEEKS to fix I've been told, and they have to submit the issue to their processing department for it to be fixed. if they didn't notify of this I would call back asap and ride them to get this straightened out. I have no come across about 20 new applicants that received confirmation up to 20+ days after me and already have their plastic. They told me this "IT issue" was rare but I don't think it's a rare as they'd like us to believe.

I'm a new applicant, everything submitted and confirmed on 12/4 and I've been in the "fingerprints under review" stage for a month. I called two days ago and they said they haven't been accepted or rejected and don't know what's going on. In the mean time, there are new applicants who submitted 3-15 days after me that have already received their plastic in late Jan and in the last several days. You should've already been processed as a renewal. Something is going on and it needs to be straightened out.
