I would think that if it is put on the magnet, and removed often enough it may be possible. I don't know that it would cause any performance issues, with the possible exception of mag release, but I'm far from an expert, I know that I had a multi tool that I kept on a very powerful magnet for a while, at my work bench, and it is now magnetized, but that is more of a help than a hindrance. It was just a surprise the first time I picked up a screw and it wouldn't let go. :shock:

Not sure I would mount one under my Dodge, but I have thought about these for handguns hidden in the house. With an AR having an aluminum lower/ quad rail etc, not a viable option in my opinion.
He also needs to tighten up his spare tire it moves around too much. :mrgreen:
