I have only been asked for my DOB. they never have asked to see my ID for ammo. The last time I was there, last Saturday, I picked up some shotgun shells, and a box of 9mm. They didn't even ask for my DOB. As I posted earlier in this thread, the last time they asked for my DOB, I said 7-4-76. No one batted an eye, not realizing that it shaved at least 15 years off of my age, nor that I didn't provide a century.
I think it is like most POS registers, in that it gives them a notice that they need to verify age, for certain items i.e cigarettes, alcohol, etc. I guess the last clerk just put in a date that would indicate that the purchaser was of legal age. I just hope she didn't make me 99 years old.
