I think the answer is to have the equivalent of 30.06 and 30.07 signs. Since businesses are considered private property and thus have the right to post those signs in regards to guns, they should have the same right to post equivalent signs when it comes to bathroom usage without legal ramifications. No one allowed in the restroom or dressing area of the opposite sex just because one "self identifies" as such (30.06 equivalent) or, maybe better, a 30.07-type sign meaning transgenders allowed provided their birth gender is concealed! In other words, if they dress and act like a person of the sex they self identify as then they are permitted to use what they view as the appropriate restroom or dressing areas. However, should they be identified as a person of the opposite sex and anyone in those facilities is uncomfortable with their presence then verbal "effective notice" can be given and the individual must immediately vacate the facility.

Unfortunately, tolerance and acceptance of other people's feelings, views, beliefs and sense of security are not a strong points of the left and even that wouldn't be good enough for them. Sad.

Historically, I am sure there have been many transgendered and even cross-dressers (who don't necessarily identify themselves as a woman) who have used the ladies bathrooms. However, up until now my perception is that at least they have tried to "fit in" by looking as close to a woman as they could, though some are more successful then others. The goal being to do their "business" without attracting much if any attention. After all, going into a men's room wearing makeup, a wig, a dress and in heels would certainly look out of place and be an invitation to violence in some locations or situations.

With this new Target policy it is making it easier for peeping toms and perverts to satisfy their sick needs by just saying "I identify as/feel that I am a woman today". There is no need to try to "fit in" by dressing as the other sex and even if no harm is intended I feel it is wrong to let these perverts have carte blanche. These people are the opposite of the true transgendered or cross-dresser as they seem to want to attract attention to themselves as well. Also, keep in mind this Target policy does not only affect bathrooms but changing rooms as well!

There already have been a number of reports of women being filmed in their restrooms. That may not be physically harmful to them but I imagine it might have a psychological effect. In either event I don't want my wife, daughters or granddaughters to have to look over their shoulder every time they have to use a public restroom or a changing area in a store.
