Re: LEOSA and TCOLE
Bryanmc, I was not saying TCOLE instructors cannot certify, just LTC instructors do not meet the law. As a matter of law, TCOLE officers must be able to certify officers IF their department adopts a policy allowing it. I understand that Steve. The TCOLE card is just a record of proficiency. While T...

Re: LEOSA and TCOLE
Interesting that this has been revived. I found it in a search with keywords LEOSA and TCOLE. I had a firearms instructor (state le and chl) tell me that the only valid leosa qualification card in Texas was the one issued by TCOLE. LEOSA says that you have to qualify to state standards by someone qu...

Re: LTC/Firearm/Purse Stolen
As mentioned in an earlier post, there is no penalty for violating 411.205. However, if you violate 46.15 by carrying without your license, you lose it's protection from prosecution under 46.02. That does carry a heavy penalty. My point was more along the line that the ltc has to be carried when ca...

Re: LTC/Firearm/Purse Stolen
To-may-to, to-mah-to. Either way, it means you have to have the plastic on your person when you carry. :tiphat: 411.205 makes it pretty clear..... If a license holder is carrying a handgun on or about the license holder’s person when a magistrate or a peace officer demands that the license holder d...

Re: LTC/Firearm/Purse Stolen
There's a spot on the LTC website to report a stolen license. My guess is that is there because they expect you to report a stolen license. Also, you only have 30 days to report a change of address and can be suspended for 30 days if you fail to do so. If you did a change of address and the p...

Re: Shots fired, LEO at the door, what do you do?
I was told by a LEO friend of mine to never unlock your door and to speak to them thru the locked door. He said if the door is unlocked, they can legally open the door and come in. May be urban myth.....I don't know.....just what I was told. There are a couple exceptions allowing entry without a wa...

Re: Republican Convention: Cruz supporters planning trouble?
The Clinton campaign can save their money. The republicans will destroy their party for them. Every election cycle the GOP fields 12 or so prospective candidates who focus most their time and energy destroying their fellow candidates (and as the field narrows, the mud slinging intensifies) and very ...

She's obviously not an expert... she didn't mention "the shoulder thing that goes up" or "high capacity magazine clips".

I understand what you're saying, but I just can't get comfortable carrying a pistol pointing at my femoral artery.cmgee67 wrote: Carrying appendix with a GLOCK is no big deal. I carry that way about 50% of the time. It is perfectly safe as long as you don't pull the trigger.

Re: LA: Alton Shering Shot by LEO
I don't belive the police should have been allowed to confiscate the store security videos. They are notorious for not releasing video to the public for a prolonged time, they also should not be policing themselves. The videos are evidence that will be used in an investigation. Who would you sugges...

Re: LA: Alton Shering Shot by LEO
When I was working (and since I've retired) ANY time I had an official contact with LE (traffic stop or whatever) I always notified them I was armed immediately and always carried my wallet / creds opposite my weapon. If I have time, when the lights come on I'll take my wallet out (right front pocke...
