They gave me a letter along with the new CHL-100. It explains what happened and that they intend to rectify it by issuing another cert by an instructor that DOES have a current license.Jusme wrote:scattermaster racing wrote:this really bites!
I took my class 1-30-16
sent in my info 2-1-16
Friday 2-26-16 I received a phone call from the range where I did my class. They informed me that the officer doing the training had let his license lapse and my CHL-100 is no good. :-(
They offered to give me another cert signed by another officer who just happened to be witnessing the class.
I sent it in on Saturday 2-27-16 and received another email from the state today verifying that they received my supporting documents.
The guys at the range said it would not be a big deal, but my waiting clock would have to start over. Dang.
I"m a bit anxious about the whole deal. What if the state doesn't recognize the second CHL-100 and turns me down because I sent in a bogus one to start with?
I'm no expert, but an affidavit from the range providing the details of the screw up (theirs, not yours) may help, I would go ahead and procure the affidavit, but not send it until asked for clarification from DPS. Sounds like kind of a fly by night group you had to deal with. JMHO
Also came with 2 free range passes.
I can send that in to the state if they ask but hopefully they won't.
I don't want to give the place a bad name. I've been there about 4 times now and I like the staff. They seem friendly and respectful. The range is about like the other indoor ranges I've been to. It's pretty nice.
