Are you sure this isn't just a recurring nightmare you're having?TeachMan2016 wrote:The most awful of moments just happened.
I got a call from the DPS for some reason and I am at work and cannot randomly pick up the phone...Here's the kicker they didn't even leave a message.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Yes, my licence had the updated address. Keep in mind, I was practically sitting on the website so there was zero time between the status update and me submitting the address change. So it appears the office had time to call the printer and say, "Hold up on that one!."TeachMan2016 wrote:Question for you ModiusOne,MöbiusOne wrote:FINAL TIMELINE:

Status change: 4/2/16
Plastic in hand: 4/11/16
66 work days elapsed total.
I also had to submit a change of address once that option became available on 4/2/16, so that may have contributed to the delay between the status change and plastic in hand. However, I'm glad it does not appear to bump you to the back of the line.
For those keeping score at home, I sent DPS an email mid-February about the address change and another early March asking for a general update. Neither was responded too, and my address was unchanged when my application became accessible on 4/2 (they also managed to enter my phone number in incorrectly, FWIW).
Regardless, I'm glad not to be the only one at work without a LTC anymore, and my PF-9 can finally join me in my boot at the office.
Did the address change on your license once you received it? I'm probably going to have to do what you did since I am moving the first week in May and wont have the same address.
If I had waited longer, it's possible they would have printed my licence with my old address and mailed it to the new address, since I had done the address change with the USPS. It would theoretically get there a bit sooner, and (someone else check me on this) still be valid if you moved less than 30 days ago, so you could use it while waiting on the new one with your new address.
That way sounds legally ambiguous and more tedious, though, so if your status hasn't changed on the website I'd recommend sitting on that page and submitting the address change as soon as it's an option before they rush it to the printer.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Prologue: 1/11 all in, 4/2 status change.
So on Saturday, I received the heralded UPDATED STATUS on the website (with options to change address, report it stolen, etc.). Since I had moved in the interim period of time (sorry my life can't be put on hold while DPS takes its sweet time), I submitted a change of address form on the website and paid the fee. I got an email receipt for that, and a confirmation that "my checklist contains no required supporting document items." Which is good...I think (that's ambiguous wording).
So after two days where the website is unavailable (48 hours after that address update), my page has gone BACK to the original status (no options for address, etc.).
Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Jan 11th! My all-in date! Now refreshing frantically.1badazzman35 wrote:I just got off the phone with RSD. Spoke to a woman who actually works on the applications. As per our conversation, she stated to me that they are currently working on the timeframe around Jan. 11th applications as of right now. She stated that they are processing out approximately 1400 applications a day at this moment but each day they are receiving in approx 2000 more. She also stated to me that they have pulled people from "other divisions" of DPS to help process these applications and that they have hired some temp workers as well. They are also working 7 day weeks now until they are caught up and they are offering other dept. personnel overtime hours if they want to stay an additional 4 hours a day to assist with them. I think they are doing their best and it is very frustrating that some people are getting their stuff processed faster than others. When I asked her about this… as I was ALL IN on the 28th of January, she didn't have an explanation for this but stated that they are trying to be fair and keep things in order and are trying their best to get these things processed. She gave me her direct # and told me to give them a week and to call her back for another update if I would like. She also confirmed that my background check had already been complete but until my application was actually input into the computer system, (which it has not been yet), that nothing else could be done with it at this point. So I will try to get another update from her this time next week.
Hope this helps some.
