I think you should make sure you are addicted to law enforcement and not the show.

All shows, even the reality based ones are managed at the least, if not out right engineered to be both entertaining and enticing.

I not an involved with LE nor a fan of it, but all professions have their upper end, I doubt SWAT is open to every one who applies.
