A lame and irritating term that Frankie invented, which isn't nearly as cute as he thinks it is.gmckinl wrote:I can't take it anymore. What is "slow wheat"? You've used it all over the board. I just don't understand the reference.

Sounds exactly like what happened at my favorite NE Texas gun shop (Longtooth knows which one).tomneal wrote:Just another follow up to the discussion.
I spoke at length to the son of the owner / manager of a small family owned gun range / gun store.
The BATFE compliance department spent 3 weeks at his shop. Minimum of 2 BATFE Agents and max of 5. Every gun was inventoried and records were checked all the way back to the 70's.
ATF spent 21 days there, checking every single item. Only a handful minor errors were found, similar to Red's Trading Post, but they're on "probation" with ATF, with the sword hanging over their necks, if any more mistakes are found. Mistakes like "TX" instead of "Texas", or "Y" instead of "Yes".

That's akin to saying no one has ever received an unjustified ticket from a DPS trooper, because the lady at the DPS office was nice when you renewed your DL.txinvestigator wrote:One of our Members, TC-TX, recently received his FFL he runs from his home. The process was simple, and the ATF was helpful in getting him set up.
The ATF's National Licensing Center is mostly made up of good, helpful folks. They also have nothing to do with the Compliance branch, who are the inspectors writing up dealers for "willful noncompliance" when they find a 4473 with "y/n" instead of "yes/no", or "TX" instead of "Texas", or "St." instead of "Street".
