Somebody let me know when they become the "Test Case" on carrying in a Post Office. I spent many years as a Federal LEO and I would highly not recommend carrying in a Post Office Building.

Title 18, United States Code, Sec. 930. - Possession of firearms and dangerous weapons in Federal facilities

A. Except as provided in subsection (d), whoever knowingly possesses or causes to be present a firearm or other dangerous weapon in a Federal facility (other than a Federal court facility), or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.

Subsection (a) shall not apply to -


d. lawful carrying of firearms other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes.
oh yea I'm sorry to :deadhorse: most of us know its perfectly legal to carry in the post office but i just wanted to point that out again to the rest of the board.

there is no reason why you'd be arrested if you walked into the post office right now with a 1911 in your waistband as long as you have your CHL in Texas.


post offices are not on the forbidden list. they'd have to post a legal 30.06 sign.

you CAN carry into the post office in the state of Texas. i do it all the time.
