Well yes I will agree that it might be that she does not trust me. I told her that sign was illegal and she still said she was scared of getting arrested that day. She doesn’t believe any statistics I tell her even after I tell her they are from the FBI.

And it might be that SHE doesn’t think SHE can handle a gun so NO one should handle a gun (the old “only cops are trained to carry guns ha yea right that’s why cops shoot more bi-standers every year. Let us not forget “I’m the only one in this room qualified to use the Glock 40 ….BANG.)

She’s had a friend shoot himself while “cleaning a gun. Yes I know its impossible to shoot yourself while cleaning your gun, the first step is removing all bullets from the gun, it would be pretty hard to clean any gun with a bullet in the chamber. And a friend killed in a domestic dispute. She doesn’t even want to be around guns. I have rifles and she’s fine with those “cause they are for hunting, so I didn’t think anything about buying a pistol and getting my CHL. In all fairness I probably didn’t handle it right and triggered a defense mechanism. I guess I should read http://www.jpfo.org/ragingagainstselfdefense.htm more.

We broke up the other night cause I told her I was going to carry 24/7 and since she can’t stand being around guns she couldn’t stand being around me. Later we got back together with her understanding that I will have guns and she seams ok with that for now. We’ll see what happens. I do love her. And I can kinda understand her feelings toward guns after losing a few friends to them but she needs to separate the tool from the action.

Houston Museum of Natural Science

I went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science yesterday, for my birthday to see the “Lord of the Rings exhibit and the “Gold exhibit.

A little history first I guess, my girlfriend does not like guns, I normally don’t carry around her, but if this relationship progresses to co-habitation she’s going to have to get use to the gun. So after much “debate I got to carry yesterday. I haven’t been to the Museum since getting my CHL so I didn’t know if it was posted or not. I didn’t see one the last time I was there but I wasn’t looking. I also figured it’s probably City owned and can’t post legally.

After walking thru the “Lord of the Rings exhibit we go out side to make a call and on our way back in I see a sign on the glass door that says something about no guns and PC 46.01. my anti girlfriend also sees it and FREAKS. Saying we’re going to get arrested (don’t you just love anti’s) I try to explain that the sign does not pertain to me, to no avail. Not only that but it was pealing off like it had been there since when the City could post it’s property. We go in and QUICKLY get some souvenirs (you’ve never seen a woman shop so fast! )

I was going to ask if the Museum of Natural Science was posted legally but then I found this tread so now I’m just posting my experience.

Oh security in the “Lord of the Rings exhibit was high. I guess they didn’t want any sword wielding freaks rampaging thru the Museum. And the exhibit was good, if you liked the movie you should go see the exhibit. AND TAKE YOUR GUN!!
