Re: Joe Xiden
Capital gains on the sale of a house are only for "gains" above a certain threshold. 250k for single, 500k for married filing jointly. I've had my house for 14 years now. I don't think it's appreciated 250k in value.philip964 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:49 pm https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... nomic-plan
Xiden plans first tax hike since Clinton in 1993.
Usual stuff, capital gains. Corporate rates, income above$400,000.
BTW you may not know you pay Capital Gains on the sale of a house now. In the old days as long as you traded up you never paid capital gains. Then if you died in your home you estate paid no capital gains either with the basis brought up to today’s value.
Republicans supported that change.
A poor person has never given me a job.

Re: Joe Biden
Are you defining "gone" as in no longer occupying a chair in the office, or do you include is mental faculties? If the latter, then I would like to choose a date before he declared his candidacy for POTUS.

Re: Joe Biden
Keep in mind, while the general population casts their ballots on November 3rd (or early voting)...the ACTUAL elections for POTUS and VPOTUS take place December 14th with the electoral college delegates meet to vote. There is a ballot cast for POTUS, and a separate ballot cast for VPOTUS. I would assume that if the candidate elect were to pass, the winning party's executive committee would select a replacement and the electoral college would vote accordingly. I'm not a lawyer or constitutional scholar.crazy2medic wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 11:46 ami have a question along similar lines, if Biden had a fatal stroke Nov 2nd and their ticket won, would Camel Harris be sworn in as the president and get to pick a VP, or would the Trump win by default!

Re: Joe Biden
Except that the VP position IS elected. The electoral college has an election for POTUS, and a separate election for VPOTUS.philip964 wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 12:07 pm https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house ... -joe-biden
