I'm getting frustrated with the whole process actually, I've emailed asking what the wait time SHOULD be and haven't gotten a response yet. A friend of my husband submitted his application 2 weeks after I did and he received his license last week.

I've bought two holsters and been practicing weekly. I really wish this process didn't take forever. By viewing other posts, it looks like I have 20-30 more days to continuously refresh my Texas RSD "status" screen.![]()

You just need employees to log the activity that has taken place on the app and have a system that pushes it out to the population. I think Florida does this with concealed carry permits.
... and dominos does it with pizzas.
Not that hard.

As per our conversation, she stated to me that they are currently working on the timeframe around Jan. 11th applications as of right now. She stated that they are processing out approximately 1400 applications a day at this moment but each day they are receiving in approx 2000 more. She also stated to me that they have pulled people from "other divisions" of DPS to help process these applications and that they have hired some temp workers as well. They are also working 7 day weeks now until they are caught up and they are offering other dept. personnel overtime hours if they want to stay an additional 4 hours a day to assist with them. I think they are doing their best and it is very frustrating that some people are getting their stuff processed faster than others. When I asked her about this… as I was ALL IN on the 28th of January, she didn't have an explanation for this but stated that they are trying to be fair and keep things in order and are trying their best to get these things processed. She gave me her direct # and told me to give them a week and to call her back for another update if I would like. She also confirmed that my background check had already been complete but until my application was actually input into the computer system, (which it has not been yet), that nothing else could be done with it at this point. So I will try to get another update from her this time next week.
Hope this helps some.
What state employees working 7 days a week?
wow I hope this is true
I'm surprised you got this much info from them every time I call I get the 12 week run around and no more info
I WAS TOLD that the later apps being processed & license issued ahead of earlier apps can be explained by the the efficiency of the person it just happened to be assigned. Some "piles" are coming up faster than others. AND Temp Workers were initially assigned to NEW APPS, leaving perm DPS to fend through the PAST DUE APPS!

Patience, I guess...
