I understand your frustration with this process. If you've passed the background check you have nothing to worry about. They are processing applications as fast as they can considering they are horribly understaffed. Usually when you call that 7771 number they tell you it will take 7-10 days for processing the app. They still have to send it to printing and have them mailed out. give them another 7-10 days then call that number back to see where you are in the application process.

Your frustrations are misplaced. DPS requested for more funding, but Legislature refused. This needs to be addressed in 2017.

I called today and left a voicemail inquiring about my status. A lady named Danette (spelling) called me back asking for my driver's license and gave me her direct line.

I called her back and she answered right away, I gave her my DL and she put me on a brief hold and told me the same thing as everyone else. Please allow 7-10 for processing the application. She my background check had came back and they have all the things they need. The 7-10 days is to make sure everything is there and to be input the system, then it would be sent to printing. She advised me to call if I had anymore questions. She was very nice I might add.

I'm starting to think that calling that number is the way to go. I'll keep everyone posted if I see a status change or plastic.

I called the (512) 424-7293 number and after a 40 minute wait time, Sherry answered and told me that my application was approved for printing today 4/28/16 and that I should receive it in 14-21 days; not the 7-10 days Reggie told me earlier this week. I would recommend calling the "main" line and see what they say. It took about 6 tries before I got in the queue.

Anybody know what the average time is form "approved to print" to time in hand?

Congrats on the good news, I guess I will call this reggie guy and see what he says to me.

from what I've gathered watching the forum it's usually in early morning.

She told me it could take up to 60 days to receive the background check back.

I was going to post a long rant on how unhappy I was about this entire process being what it is, especially for people who have waited a lot longer than me. Instead I decided not to. In 2017 we need to fight for DPS and their RSD to have a bigger budget. This is ridiculous.

I think if they just had a way to update us on the website on what our status is. They could spend less money on the LTC call center and more on actually having people work on LTC licensing.

Right now, I do believe they are working as fast as they can.

I can only imagine how annoying this entire process can be for some of you that have been waiting since Dec/Jan.

Makes it very hard to be patient when you have no clue what is going on with your application.
