Much to my surprise I got a call from Austin (512-424-2000) this morning that I only answered to tell the telemarketer who keeps calling from various numbers wanting to reduce my interest rate to go to hell (again) and a nice lady from the DPS told me I had been approved and sent to print and should get my CHL in a few days Did reach out to my local state senator and received an email asking for TDL#. Not sure if that helped but figured it couldn't hurt.

Been a long gestation period but looks like I'll be delivering my little CHL next week (the fastest 3 months of my life

on my 12th all in week and FINALLY got thru on the phone. Reminded me of many years ago when you'd call a radio station contest and all you got was a busy signal on every attempt but then one magic moment you heard a ringing and you sat up in anticipation you had won the contest...then only to have them tell you they already had a winner and thanks for calling.

That's what happened when I finally got thru to DPS this morning. I just knew they'd tell me my plastic was on its way but instead was told they have all they need and I'll just have to wait longer . Kind of takes the thrill out of my daily trip to the mail box thinking today might be the day. Now I know it probably won't happen for another couple of weeks at minimum.
