Have both handy but....................

The perps should never hear the sound of racking a shell for two reasons:
1. There should already be a round in the chamber.
2. You will give up the secret of your location to anyone that hears it. Might start a hail of bullets in your general direction!

an older fellow, a friend of mine has a bunch of ammo up in his attic that's been there for 20 years through heat and cold. In the summertime I often wear my (supposedly out of fashion) cargo shorts and carry a snub nosed S&W 642 in a Mika Pocket Holster. My ammo of choice is Remington +P 158 gr. LSWCHP, aka FBI Load. Very comfortable and easy to carry.

I do the opposite of giving things up. I make an effort to do positive things everyday. I exercise more, try to help neighbors, pick up trash I see along the sidewalk where I walk, let discourteous drivers cut in that normally wouldn't, etc. etc. etc.
