Anyone from any organization calling me and asking questions that's none of their damn business gets hung up on.Skiprr wrote:Recent Gallup polls show that 41% of American households say they have a firearm in their homes. Let me ask you: If you received a Gallup pollster's telephone call some evening after dinner asking if you had guns in your home, how many of you would respond with, "Yes; of course"?

By "we" does he mean his administration and all the other criminals on the streets?Skiprr wrote:For the sake of full disclosure, I went back and listened to that portion of the DVRed speech again. Not a material change, but here is the exact quotation:
POTUS wrote:We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer, or even a book.

Not in the least after seeing him shoot a police officer in the back.ajwakeboarder wrote:Am I the only one a little unsettled by the fact that the PD used a bomb against the guy? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he got taken out and I mourn the officers lost, but this just rubs me wrong.MustangGlocker wrote:No links but heard that DPD took out the shooter with a remote detonated device using the robot.
I listened to the mayor and police chief briefing on the way to work and the fact that an explosive device was used to take out the shooter did surprise me. In fact, I did have some reservations about it. Then I saw the video of him shooting the police officer in the back. After that I don't care what they had to do to bring him down.

Wonder how long it will take him to get his rifle back?vjallen75 wrote:a VERY smart move, he was supposedly only questioned for 30 minutes then released.casp625 wrote:Probably a smart move on his part. One man who was marching during the protest, Mark Hughes, was incorrectly identified by police as a “person of interest” in the shooting, and his photo was distributed on Twitter by the department. Hughes was open carrying a rifle, which is legal in Texas, to exercise his Second Amendment rights, but he turned over the gun to a police officer after the shooting began so he would not be mistaken as a suspect. That moment was caught on video:

Re: Shots fired at BLM protest in Dallas
I understand the LEO's need to keep aspects of the suspects and ongoing investigation to themselves right now - but I think that the public needs to be told whether or not there are shooters still at large.

Condolences to your friend's family and friends, as well as to all of the slain officers families.C-dub wrote:I lost a friend last night. He leaves a wife and two daughters, 14y and 10y. He was only 2-3 years from retirement. He didn't talk much about the job. I knew he worked at Love Field before, but didn't know he did foot stuff and didn't think he would have been anywhere near that last night.
Extreme sorrow and anger is what I'm feeling this morning.
I share your feelings of sorrow and anger, as well as sadness as to what our country is devolving into.
