Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
All day Friday and Saturday, still didn’t see everything. Too tired to go back today. Awesome event. Had to wonder what the exhibit hall would have looked like if there were no AR platform.
Sampled Black Rifle Coffee, it was excellent just black and I never drink coffee without cream and sugar. Definitely going to order some.
Saw lots of people I’d only seen in online videos. Had a 10 minute conversation with Julie Goleb in the S&W booth. Talked to Alice Tripp in TSRA booth. Hauled home enough catalogs and swag to keep me occupied for a few days.
Rode TRE train from Ft Worth both days, met and talked to several good folks. Interesting conversation with an 84 year young Korean War veteran. He was using a cane due to having surgery on his foot to remove a plate put in when he had a motorcycle accident at age 74. He gave up on 2 wheels and rides a trike now, he just laughed when I said “you’re still riding?” We got off the train at Union Station and he took off walking to the convention center, beat my neighbor and I there!
The Members Meeting on Saturday was fantastic. Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox’s speeches were moving and motivating, I am proud to be a NRA member.
The 150th Annual Meeting May 13-18, 2021 will be in Houston!
Protesters seen both days were a total of 7. If there were hundreds (or thousands as some suspected fake news organizations claimed) the Dallas PD and other law enforcement kept them from being a distraction or news worthy.

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
Not just your local paper is publishing comments from hererotor wrote:The danger to posting at sites such as this, my local paper had quotes from Grundy1133 concerning the NRA convention and disarming LTC holders. Not that Grundy comments were bad but they can be used to reflect against the NRA if the author of the newspaper column wants to slant it that way, and they usually do.
The lesson to be learned is that we are not alone on this site, anyone can see our comments and use it against us.
FYI folks.

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
I for one am getting excited and looking forward to this weekend!
This morning's email from American Rifleman had links to several of the presentations that will be part of the Annual Meeting.
Hopefully we can find a way for forum members to meet up during the weekend.

Re: 147th Annual NRA Meeting in Dallas
Has anyone ever heard the phrase "Don't talk to the media?" Because I do not read German I have no idea what the slant of this news organization is, so I am forced to default to the position that they are pro-German government type of thinking - for immigration and against civilian ownership of firearms.
Personally, I have nothing to say to either American or foreign "journalists" as they have proven time after time to distort and/or obscure the truth.

That's a good idea. If the hotel allows concealed and open carry that is!ELB wrote:My plan it to be at the door when the exhibit opens on Friday and hopefully avoid some of the rush.strogg wrote:That's a great idea. I suggest we have a designated spot and time for all three days. That way we can accommodate people's varying schedules throughout the weekend. So something like meet up at this tbd spot by 9:15AM on all three days. Once the group feels like everyone who will show up has shown up, they'll start walking around and perusing.bblhd672 wrote:We should have a pre-arranged meetup location at the NRA show for all the forum members who attend to get together.
I am planning on going Friday morning myself to avoid the weekend crowd, although something tells me it'll be packed senseless regardless of which day I go anyway.
I vote we establish the meeting time to be shortly before opening, and the meeting place to be somewhere that has coffee!
ETA: The Omni Hotel is connected to the KBH convention center by a skybridge and has a coffee shop in the lobby, along with seven other restaurants. Open to better suggestions though.
