It’s not just this forum. Most forums on the web are made up of an overwhelming majority of men.

Re: Africa: In case you were thinking of visiting
Don't paint a whole continent based on exceptional events in one, two, or a handful of countries. Everyone who can should visit Africa if they have any desire to see it, just book your travel with reputable people and make sure security is provided throughout the trip. You can also book "trip ...

Re: Nervous LTC test
You have to be REALLY bad to fail the test. If that’s at 5 yards you should be fine. The target is huge and you could almost pass if every single shot hit outside the rings.

Re: Medications and CHL question
Thanks everyone. I do work in the oil and gas industry. I like my work, I like the people I work with and my company treats me well for the most part. But ever since the downturn I guess they realized they can survive with less of a workforce. I’m also currently in school for a mechanical engineerin...

Re: Medications and CHL question
Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. I’ve been struggling for years to deal with this through different remedies. Changing jobs is not an option because frankly I have a very well paying office job with no degree that I had to work years to get. Leaving would mean starting over again and des...

Re: Medications and CHL question
Shooting and RC airplanes used to be my coping mechanism but making it out to the range is cut down from twice a week to now once every couple of weeks at best not to mention finding the team to actually make my reloads. The new restrictions on RC planes destroyed my ability to fly in the unincorpor...

Medications and CHL question
I currently have a valid CHL for another 3 years before renewal. My job is getting stressful. The anxiety is keeping me from sleeping and really starting to get to me. My doctor suggested Xanax. I told him no for now because I don’t know if that would disqualify me being prescribed Xanax. It’s not d...

This is what I use. Looks like steel wool but won’t mess up any of your finishes. Works great.

Re: kydex holsters
If I'm wrong please tell me: You're all speaking of IWB holsters...right? With an OWB, the only type I've ever used be they leather or bolatron or kydex with not one did I go through all this type (over time) dissatisfaction. Get an OWB, you'll experience fewer problems and greater comfort. The Cro...

Re: kydex holsters
I have a CrossBreed holster for my Colt Defender that I use as my EDC. It's been close to daily for almost 2 years but it seems as if the Kydex isn't holding it nearly as tight anymore. I used to be able to hold the holster upside down and the gun not fall out, but no longer. However, when it's on m...

Re: Marlin 1895 guide gun in 45-70
If I had the money presently, I'd be very interested. When NRA convention was in Houston, I ran across one company -- I forget their name -- that turned these into very handy takedown guns and greatly improved the action. The quality of work on the example they had on hand was stunning and the pric...
