I think it is no better than at the end. The issue is not how or what they are collecting regarding CHL holders. It is the fact that they are collecting information at all as a requirement of admittance. Unless they are planning to collect the information of everyone entering into the fairly legally they shouldn't collect CHL holders. The fact that only CHL holders information is being collected makes it de facto that the information is that of CHLs holders. the guise that there is nothing that identifies the person as a CHL holder doesn't change anything....

I don't care if the person who gains access to information after the fact knows if I am a CHL holder. I don't want that person to ever have opportunity to get the information at all.

I think I've only seen it mentioned once since... But wasn't the agreement (right or wrong) that only a LEO would be gathering the information. If that's the case why is the golf cart guy still taking down people's info and why on earth are some of you giving it to him voluntarily. Keep your mouth shut and let them find it first as was mentioned by some others recently. Then make your decision as to whether it's important enough to you walk or not.

This is really frustrating but I think the absence of any real interest so far by any news media and at least not publicly by the TSRA and NRA means that this will be something that is not going away soon.....

and commendable efforts by everyone here so far in communicating to our public servants whose salaries we pay even if they have forgotten it....
