Re: MI: Open carry idiots almost win Darwin award
Wearing a ski mask while holding a rifle with two hands while entering a police station, what an idiotic move. With all the anti-police rhetoric the last few years using a police station as a location to open carry as a political statement seems very inappropriate.

Re: Do you really need it?
Anyone use [Pre-paid legal service]? (Moderator note: the Forum allows no named mention of such services at this time. One prominent service is the subject of an ongoing class-action lawsuit and, given the nature of this Forum, we cannot allow by-name cites or testimonials, whether positive or negat...

Re: Licensed but don't carry? Why?
When I got my CHL I didn't think too much about carrying full time. At the time it was risky carrying into places like Harris County under the "Traveling Exemption", The CHL assured I could travel freely while armed without Harris County persecuting me. Later as I followed this forum, I f...

Insurance? Prepaid legal services?
How many of you all have insurance and/or pre paid legal services for when you carry in the off-chance it may be needed? Does anyone have any experience with any groups or recommendations? The only one I know of is [Pre-paid legal service].

Re: 2017 Wait time
It took mine a few days (two to four, can't quite remember) to go from Print Pending to Mailed.K5CLC wrote:I'm waiting for that status now myself, congratulations!Mr_Houston_Guy wrote:02/03/2017 - Mailed

Re: Questions about the process (new guy)
So I did the online app, got fingerprinted, took the took the course. I uploaded a scan of my CHL-100. Is uploading it under "supporting documents" at the DPS website sufficient for a new applicant? Or do I have to mail in the original?

Re: Questions about the process (new guy)
So the order doesn't even matter provided I get everything in? That's pretty cool.
Supporting docs sounds like something that would be needed only if there is issue regarding ones personal history (criminal, health, etc), is that about right?

Questions about the process (new guy)
I am looking to go to a CHL class to get a permit (obviously). I have a few questions 1. Do I have to fill out the online application before I take the class? There is a disparity regarding this based on which websites I visit 2. I just moved to Houston from Dallas (less than 6 months). My drivers l...
