Government entities are usually pretty good about placing "working" ahead of "days" if that's their meaning. I'm not a lawyer, so if anyone else wants to weigh in, feel free... just my experience in working with various governments.timcw wrote:My LTC has been stuck on "Background under review" since June 2016. 02/12/16 application received, 06/01/16 DPS receives additional requested supporting documents for a stupid thing I did years ago, which gave them another 180 days. Since June, I'm somewhere around 220 calendar days, and 150 working days! My main question before I go crazy and start calling my state rep, etc, does the 180 days mean "calendar days", or does it mean "working days"? Should I wait another 30 working days to find out?

Re: "Waiting Room"
According to this, you'll need to have served on Active Duty within the last 365 days, currently be serving on active duty (not TAD): https://www.dps.texas.gov/RSD/CHL/docum ... hedule.pdfJMDTX wrote:When I look at my online LTC application status, everything is green except my Fee. It is highlighted in red and and states "Fee: Insufficient, notice sent to applicant." I'm currently in the Army Reserve and sent in my supporting documents to have my fee waived. Anyone have any idea why there is an issue with it?
If you're wanting to pay the $25, just produce a DD-214.

Re: "Waiting Room"
I would contact my state representative. HINT: stop emailing the DPS, and pick up the phone. Do the same with your state representative. These people are inundated with emails, and if you even get a reply, it'll be far longer than you'd hoped to have waited.z0mb13 wrote:Emailed 3 times since June (no response)Raf wrote:Have you called them?z0mb13 wrote:All in on 4/25

Sitting on day 109
Called 2 times this month and they say it's still sitting in "eligibility" but they haven't sent me any request for supporting documentation of any sort.
I'm hoping I see all green in the next few days but I'm done holding my breath at this point. I know that one of these days it will be worth the wait.
What has everyone done to help expedite the process if anything? I want to write my Rep. Anyone that is for/ or against that?
What would you do?

Re: "Waiting Room"
I called DPS & let them know I was surprised I hadn't received the card yet. Asked where they shipped the cards from, and was advised it would either ship from Austin or San Antonio. Once I told the very nice lady that I was in Austin, she asked to review my file, and noticed that my address was missing my apartment number on the application. About $14 later, I'm back to the print + mail phase... frustrating, but the people at DPS have been nice every single time I've talked to them. Seems the speed is picking up - for those who have been waiting a while, I'd recommend giving them a call and talking to someone who can give you some kind of direction.remanifest wrote:Still no plastic today... this is odd.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm hesitant to speculate on a conspiracy, but I would definitely recommend contacting your state representative. If you don't know who that is, you can find them here. I have had good luck getting through to the DPS staff, though I haven't called too frequently. (512) 424-7293 is the number to dial - I've had the best luck in the middle of the day.Vonic2185 wrote:I have been visiting this forum since about the time I applied for my license but, just now signed up. So, I'd like to start off by saying thank you to everyone using this. I believe this has done great things for the uniting of our true "Americans" trying to use their rights. Now, I wish I could bring good news but, I literally finished sending in everything needed back in December. Then, I finally got a new screen that had the checklist (which i feel was a good idea for the site) but, mine has said print pending since I got that screen and somehow I still do not have my license or a change to mailed. When I try phoning the number on the site, I get a automated message that says all people are busy, try later and it hangs up on me. I've been calling, sometimes multiple times a day and have yet to get through......? My personal opinion is this is the government holding things up at it's finest. I say that because, I also went to buy a pistol at a gun show and the F.B.I. put a hold on me buying one. I wasn't denied or approved. There were also two military vets at the same table and got a hold while we watched regular people walk away with weapons. Its not a denial or an approval. Funny thing is, I bought a pistol before and absolutely nothing has changed in inbetween the purchase and the hold. I would appreciate any advice or maybe I'm doing it wrong. I'm always up for knowledge and humility so, if it's something I am doing then, please someone let me know.

It's strange that the fingerprints have been under review for so long.giant22000 wrote:My dad and I turned in all paperwork submitted on April 23rd. He received his license about a month later. As for me, I've been stuck here since May. Should I make some phone calls to see what's going on?

Re: "Waiting Room"
Figured I'd share my timeline with the group.
LTC Payment to DPS: 6/24

LTC Class: 7/9
CHL 100 & DD-214 Submitted Online: 7/9
Receipt of Documents Acknowledged via Email: 7/11

Currently in a print pending status. DPS folks say to expect the license in 7-10 days. I've definitely been impatient waiting for all of this to go through.
