Re: Trail cams

I hate to take this conversion way outside the realm of this forum, but I experienced something similar on my wife's SUV last year. She found herself having to fill up frequently, and even after filling up the gauge would only read about 3/4 full. Then by the end of the day, she was on empty again. ...

Re: Time to donate to the NRA

I suppose the best approach is to determine how much your comfortable with giving, then use the discount to buy as many gift memberships as your chosen amount will allow. This will maximize both cash intake and membership. For those concerned with spam, it's worth noting that emails and phone number...

Re: Time to donate to the NRA

Assuming I can find $350 to sponsor 10 people Gift memberships can be purchased for $25/ea. That would knock $100 off the total. Go to nra2018.org and log in with your own member number. Find the link for gift memberships there. I'm a little torn about using the modest discounts at a time when the ...

Re: Enterprise Car Rental Drops the NRA

I've never taken advantage of any NRA member discount in my life, so I'm experiencing no loss here. However, I'm certainly paying attention to who is breaking ties. They will not have my business. Funny thing is that these "partners" likely contribute little, if any, to the NRA. They simpl...

Re: TX: Houston robber tries to kill victims so they couldn't say 713 tattooed on his neck

Less than three years ago, this man was a hailed by the Chronicle as a shining example of a model reformed criminal. He was coaching others benefiting from early relief from their prison sentences. Relief gained when someone in charge told the Justice Department that jail terms for many drug charges...

Re: Checking in at kids' school

Had to check my daughter out today for an ortho appointment. As I walked into the school office, I noticed a large, perfectly compliant 30.06 sign in both languages. Talk about redundant!!!!! Here's a better one. My kids' school has large, perfectly compliant 30.07 signs in both languages at each e...

Re: Brick and mortar store in Houston to buy Don Hume?

There is only one authorized dealer in the houston area listed on Don Hume's website.

Spectre Firearms
10801 Spring Cypress Rd
#14
Houston, TX 77070
281-257-2245

I don't know the place, so this isn't an endorsement.

Re: THIN gun belt suggestions

For well over a year I have had two different colors of the 1.5" Trainer Belts from 5.11. One is worn almost daily and the other sparingly. Neither is worse for wear and the Velcro is holding up just fine. My daily carry is a shield 9mm, usually in an Alien Gear iwb, but sometimes in a basic be...

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

I just received my call sign, as well. Passed elements 2 and 3 and qualified for General class. Two for the price of one! Charles, the Katy ARS hosts their VE sessions every third Saturday in Katy. All the info is on their website, which is easy enough to find with Google. Regards, Kevin Edited to c...

Thank you for posting this. It reminds me of my father, who loved folk music almost as much as he loved the Ken Burns Civil War documentary.

Re: Bowl & Barrel - City Center, Houston

So no signs were posted at the entry. Although I would be very surprised if the TABC sign isn't changed to red upon renewal. This place is definitely more of a bar that happens to have a few bowling lanes.

Until then, carry on.

Bowl & Barrel - City Center, Houston

Heading to an outing there tonight. It's not listed on Texas30.06 and TABC says blue sign.

Has anyone been to this place who can advise on any postings? The location in City Center leaves me with reservations. Many venues there are posted.

Thanks.
