All of my documents were submitted/accepted by the end of July. My background is the only thing under review and it's been that way for a month.

I had to include 4 addresses (including out of state), but I only submitted everything on 8/16/2016, so I haven't waited anywhere near as long as you have (still waiting). But there's at least 1 person here who submitted paperwork on same day as me who has already has everything approved, so maybe that's why.

I'm not an expert by any means and I'm also new here, but I would speculate that they probably pull everything from databases simultaneously and should theoretically take the same amount of time (unless if you have criminal history, then multiple addresses might be more of a factor, or maybe that's just because there's another layer of approval?). Logically, I just don't see why it would take more time because I can't imagine these background checks not to be automated to a certain degree (I would imagine they would pull data from each place you lived together rather than pulling data from 1 address and waiting until they have that until checking the next - which would be very inefficient).

But again, not an expert by any means, but that's my guess. I'm interested to hear with how much longer it takes for your CHL to be mailed because that might be a good indicator for how long I can expect to wait (if your suspicion of multiple residences is a factor after all)

Update from this morning:

I had a minor typo in my previous post, the date that I submitted paperwork was on 8/16/2016 (not 15th). Today my status has updated to show something (that's 8 business days for status to change from the default in case anyone is wondering)

It now says Background Check : Under review and License To Carry A Handgun : Print pending completion of application review.

I have a question regarding the status updates.... I electronically submitted paperwork on Aug 15th (including having my fingerprints done on the same day), how long does it normally take for the status to say something? Currently my status still says "Application processed online. Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials" - is that normal?
