Re: Do You Think A 30.06 Sign Welcomes OC?

Sometimes my only thrill is being a contrarian. :evil2: I'm sure there are businesses that may rather see OC over CC, so post accordingly. Without a door-to-door survey; however, this is pure conjecture. I've read this sentiment in the public, so it's not unreasonable to apply it to private business...

Re: Taking on the Cedar Park Center - Heb Center

I think odds are Locke is more right than not - "Fines for Signs" is really more about making the government follow the law, not private entities that chose to not follow the law on government property. Time and time again, Paxton has ruled that because it's the private party that is posti...

Re: Taking on the Cedar Park Center - Heb Center

Would like to see updates when available. I had a brief email exchange with them, asking them who owned the property. They quickly told me the city, etc. But when I pointed out that they cannot enforce 30.06 postings, things got quiet.

Re: How to report improper §30.06 signs

 :mad5 This may be the wrong place to post but they put up new 30.06 and 30.07 signs where there were none before at Half Price books on Westhiemer Rd.I went there last weekend, there were no signs(never had been) and today there they were. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. The Sugar Lan...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

So if an employer chooses to terminate an employee over this, what can be done? I love my job and get paid well. Since Texas is a work-at-will state, you'd be lucky if they gave you a reason for termination. ;-) Seriously, you should be able to show them Texas Labor Code 52.061 and that should make...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

Is there any way somone could break it down for me to understand this better? I am trying to figure out where these illegal signs would be and where to go to find what the law says. Am I correct in my thinking that it applies to city or county buildings for example ? Thank you in advance! The AG we...

If you don't know about it, HB 560 does this very thing. Look into it, and write your reps (I did, and the guy who drafted it).

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

Good morning everyone, I just sent this off to the George Library in Richmond last night. We will see how this goes... [Shortened to reduce post length] I may be wrong, but I believe that the Fort Bend library system is claiming that they are in fact a school system and not a collection of librarie...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

... Report this to the AG. I notified the Elgin ISD, submitted form to AG and here. The ISDs seem to think all school property is a school. Didn't see this addressed - but through texas30.06, I found the complaint was answered here: https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/files/opn/3006_letters/2016-0...

Re: Posted but manager says ignore it?

Here's the actual statutes; I highlighted in blue the part about it being an offense without effective consent: Sec. 30.06. TRESPASS BY LICENSE HOLDER WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder: (1) carries a concealed handgun under the authority of Subc...

Re: Posted but manager says ignore it?

IANAL. Both 30.06/30.07 makes it an offense to enter a property under the authority of your LTC without effective consent (when properly posted). The 'without effective consent ' part generally means that no one told you it was o.k. to enter, presumably because when CC'ing they wouldn't know you we...

Re: Toyota Center in Houston

This is the legal mumbo-jumbo that I hate having to engage in. We, the legal, law abiding, armed citizens don't have a leg to stand on compared to the venue owners and government entities. WE NEED BIGGER TEETH!

On paper, we're usually right - but for some reason their twisted logic takes over.

Re: Toyota Center in Houston

Double check the comments in the Texas3006.com listing - there are several mentions that it is on county property (and thus 30.06/07 is unenforceable), and the signs have the old, incorrect verbiage. This is corroborated in a few web searches: http://stadiums.pointafter.com/q/618/1376/Who-owns-Toyot...
