There's no doubt the venerable 1911 was very effective when shot from a Biplane during WW1.

Trebuchets just wouldn't fit on the airplane...

Antique weapon designs are a thing of beauty (wheelocks, flintlocks, 1911's) however, when it comes to defending my life, I prefer modern designs, most especially the Glock design.

When pulse beam/laser handguns go into production, I'm sure Glocks will then fall into the 1911category...
