Great information!
Are pistol calibers like the .44 out of a rifle far longer reaching than out of a pistol, thus making them practical for a rifle?
Or are they limited to some degree say as compared to a 30-30 or .35 Rem?
My question is based on the idea of getting a 9mm rifle to match my pistol. Keltec makes one.

However, if I were to invest in a beautiful rifle like that I'd want it in a rifle caliber.
I realize I'm not very knowledgable about pistol calibers used in rifles, but it seems to me that it would be underpowered except, perhaps, at close range.

That is a stunningly beautiful rifle, but why use a pistol cartridge in a rifle?
