This is written by a lawyer with a pre-paid legal service and is their opinion only. But, as Charles stated in this topic http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php? ... 6#p1034216 , if the hospital is part of a University then it would be off-limits due to being a university, even if not posted.paulnkathy wrote:I just found this, specifically the last line "educational institution". What the heck is and educational system? :
Furthermore, be aware that if the hospital is part of an educational institution, the possession of weapons is prohibited by TPC § 46.03(a)(1).

Re: Georgetown Hosptial 30.06?
Sounds like it may be at least close to the verbiage, if not the actual. It also has to have the statute in Spanish and be 1 inch contrasting letters.Snake Doctor wrote:I disarmed this morning upon entering the Georgetown Hospital System. I looked at the sign on the door, did not think it looked 100% legitimate, but decided I did not want any trouble as my main concern was getting inside to see my mother (see Prayer Requests & Updates page). I don't have access to my camera cord right now, but when I get home, I will add a picture of the sign to this thread. Just wondering if there is one and only one form of the 30.06 notice or if there are stipulations, etc. I can't remember right this moment, but it said something to the tune of "Pursuant to Texas Penal Code 30.06, no weapons are allowed on the premises... (something, something, something)... even if carried with a concealed weapons license."
Thoughts?
However, most folks will tell you if it looks like a 30.06 sign, and smells like a 30.06 sign, even if it isn't a valid one, you are probably best to obey it anyway.
Good luck to your Mom. Our prayers are with you guys!
