This kind of thing often happens when illegal drugs are found in a vehicle but not on anyone's person.

Maybe that's why all those Gang Bangers only carry Hi-Points, Phoenix Arms or Raven's so they don't loose much when they claim it wasn't theirs. And, you can bet there will be no paper trail to follow on the serial number linking it to them. :evil2:

I am also curious, but most of the time we never hear the outcome of such cases. Unless something about the story is sensational, they usually disappear after the original story. There was probably much more discussion on this forum than was ever in the news.
I just received an email from the Bedford Police Chief. He stated that the DA declined to prosecute, based on the wording (not being exactly as it states in the statute) of, not only the sign posted outside the building, but also the wording in the hospital employee policy manual.
Glad to hear they followed the letter of the law. However, this whole incident is the reason they are now posted with 30.06 signs. I will be willing to bet the manual now meets 30.06 wording too. :banghead:

And Charle's beat me to posting.

Re: CHLer arrested in improperly posted hospital

The trick is to get on the good side of the administrator where you are doing your internship, residency, etc. and convince them their policy needs to allow CHL to carry. As Bill said, even in the situations where they are trying to limit carry, they may be more lenient for a physician on staff to get permission.

Once you are established, then get on the board for various hospitals and companies and work to change the views and policies. Your title will carry a lot of weight with the powers that be! :coolgleamA:

I don't know about this. If they are interpreting the non-compliant posting on the door as 'notice', then the written notice may have also been non-compliant.

If what the Chief wrote about her location and the prior notice is factual, then she is definately going to be out of a job. I woudl also question her judgement in carrying in that facility without working out some method of securing the weapon that was agreed to by the powers that be.

No matter what, this is definatley going to be a test case that we will ALL be interested in the facts and the outcome.
