We need to get good info from a his office on this. If in fact he hasn't tagged this bill he needs to step up, as asked by both Charles and myself of his aide in the office, and state such. Best case is seeing them get it set on the House Calendar early so it has an opportunity to hit the floor and be debated and voted on.

Think I will make a couple of additional calls today since he is my Representative.

He's my Rep. Called and left a voice-mail in Calendars, and spoke with an aide in his office. Aide wasn't sure of his stance on this (supposedly), but I enforced the fact that I expected his support of this bill and that he lead the push to get it out of Calendars early so it will have adequate time for vote on the House floor.

I think employers could try to play games, but IMO the majority of them will just figure out how to rightfully meet the law or open up their lots to have it in their car. They would probably be surprised at how many folks do it already and just keep their mouth shut so no one knows it.

I can see employers providing alternative parking that is not up to the same standards as the sheep parking lot. It appears that they could discriminate against CHL holders by providing less than desirable parking.

All it states in the bill is alternative close parking. I can imagine it will not be inside the gated area and not have the security of the other lot, and will not be required to be.

However, if there is no parking area like that presently, or something close that could easily be converted, IMO it would be cheaper for them to put up a secured set of lockers or just allow you to keep it inside the gated area.
