Hopefully the bill to invalidate Texas residents carrying on another states license won't pass this session. If it does, there will be numerous folks, like yourself, who will suddenly be locked into MPA only.tvone wrote:Utah was cheaper, and more to point in class. I've been through 2 TX CHL classes, and most of it seems to be filler. Neither one is designed to teach you how to shoot. I only keep my Utah now.
I've been stopped twice, and both times presented my TX DL and Utah CHL. Never disarmed and never a ticket. Never even questioned about it.
I've been stopped by Fort Worth and Arlington PD for speeding.

Non-resident Texas licenses are accepted in Kansas now.lonewolf wrote:This map may need updating, or I am reading it incorrectly. I believe Kansas and Texas share reciprocity. The below is from the TXDPS website:
"January 30, 2007 Kansas
Effective immediately, Governor Perry has issued a proclamation that allows persons with valid concealed handgun licenses from Kansas to carry in Texas. All Kansas license holders will be required to follow Texas law while carrying concealed in this state including age restrictions and type of weapon permitted. The Kansas Attorney General's office has determined that the Texas Concealed Handgun License Standards meet "the equal to or greater standard" for recognition. Therefore, Texas residents with valid Texas Concealed Handgun Licenses may carry concealed while traveling in Kansas and will be required to follow Kansas law while carrying concealed in that state.
PLEASE NOTE: Non-Resident Texas Concealed Handgun Licensee's WILL NOT be allowed to carry in Kansas"
Edit to add: I was looking at page one of this, and didn't see just how old this thread is......my bad.......
