Actually, it is illegal. A improperly placed 51% sign is a violation of TABC code. However, I expect they just placed the wrong sign out of ignorance. If I recall correctly they receive both the blue 'Unlicensed Possession' sign and the 51% sign in the packet, so they just put the wrong one up. The local TABC office needs to be called about the improper posting of the 51% sign and they will have them correct it and put up the correct Unlicensed Possession (<51%) sign.

I would suggest you call the TABC office and advise them. They will contact the business and have it corrected.
