So i got denied today until 2019. On the bases i was in a drug and alcohol treatment center within the past 5 years. I jumped through all the hoops that the MAB asked me to go through. My doctor answered all the questions on the documentation in my favor. (The documents that the MAB sent for my doctor) but they still denied me for it. Im not sure if i want to appeal it or not.

Aw man. I'm not to sure what to do with that. I just got lab work done and my doc will sign the necessary and then I'll fax them in next week. The guy that is handling my application said he would push it through as soon as the MAB clears me. I think it will be quick.

Nope now they're telling me I have to go see a physician and basically get get cleared that I'm not crazy. This is absolutely lovely. Who knows how long that will take.

They sent my app to the board. And I got notified by mail today. The letter was dated for the 27th of July. Just got it today lol.

Well got a letter today. Sent off my application to the medical advisory board for review. I self reported admitted voluntarily to a drug and alcohol treatment center four years ago. I didn't get denied so we will see what happens.

I am 24 with a clean record. but my background has been under review sense the 18th of July once they started processing my application. i turned in all supporting documents in on the 10th of July. So the age thing i dont think applies. I am not sure why some take longer than others.

I have had similar experiences.

All good. I had all my docs tuned in on the 10th of July as well. All green but the Background check still. So we are in the same boat.
No sense in checking the status on the weekend being that I don't think they work. So another long weekend lol.

Your finger prints may not be any good. Give the DPS handgun licensing department a call and they can tell you what's going on. And you took your class August 8th of 2016? Your wife just got it? That's a long wait.

We pretty much have the same timeline. Except I turneed in my docs on the 10th and my background check is still under review.

I had the same instructor!! He was kool!!

Mine is all green except Background check of course as of 7/19. Status just appeared this morning. Submitted all documents on 7/9!! Hopefully my goes off without a hitch.

i had all my info in on the 10th of July. got my fingerprints and application completed two weeks prior to that. i have the same description on my account as well and its been 8 days. It simply means that they may have not started processing your documents yet. Or haven't updated the site. Best thing to do is call the Licensing department of the DPS and they can give you a better idea of where your at as far as processing. I called and they told me they had all my information and supporting documents and they were waiting to process it. So i suggest just giving them a call.
