I have seen a couple of posts in this thread regarding the Glock 36. I agree that the 36 would be a fine choice. I would also personally recommend the Glock 30. I have owned and carried two over the past couple of years and, aside from the security of having 11 rounds of .45 in a small package, the model also proved itself (to me) as being both reliable and very accurate. If you read the reviews online, it has gained a solid reputation since it was introduced in 1997. With regard to your budget, I was able to pick up my latest 30 a few weeks ago (made in 2003 and in great condition) for $400 out the door. Best of luck.
