Re: WTB: Glock 43 (price increase)
I paid $449 + tax a few weeks ago at the Pasadena gun show. Cheapest I've seen them anywhere. When Academy has them they are $499. I've seen them as high as $599.
Good luck finding one below $450. I haven't seen it yet.

Looking for FFL in Baytown/East Houston
I'm looking for someone in Baytown or on the east side of Houston to do a transfer for an AR lower.
Any active FFLs in the area?

I'm making an online order through Larue and putting your info down if that's ok. Delivery might be 6 months out though due to long build times.

I've been wanting one of these. If I wasn't in the process of saving for my wedding I'd be all over it.

Re: Possibly My First Handgun
If you haven't shot the Ruger yet, then rent one and shoot it. It has a different trigger pull than the glock. Ruger sr9 = 12 lb, sr9c = 6.5 lbs, glock = 5.5 to 6 lbs trigger. Glock also has crisper, shorter trigger pull. You might prefer one over the other. Please review the gun afterwards. Thanks...

Re: My hatred of the .40 S&W, by request
I love the .40 S&W. I like the added capacity compared to a .45 and I like the larger round compared to a 9mm. I carry a G27 and own a G17 and G22. All calibers I have shot have some felt recoil but none are bad enough to really slow follow up shots.

Re: Dropping Glock versus 1911
let me preface this with, I don't have time to read every post but I own 3 Glocks and absolutely love them, and I don't have any 1911s.
I'm sorry, but your friend is an idiot. Who is going to repeatedly drop, or hit a fence post with a pistol? What kind of logic is he using??

I have a 16" Bushmaster that I haven't had any problems with. Probably put around 1,000 rounds through it.
