Got back from Fla. yesterday...At DFW I signed the form and put it in the Car Safe, TSA X-Rayed the luggage then asked me for the key to the box, looked at the contents and then we were on our way. When returning from Orland, I filled out the form, put it in the box, locked it, they X-Rayed it and that was it, no open and look, everyone was very nice. My only question is; Why do you have to put the form in the box with the gun? Opening the suitecase at the ticket counter seems to disrupt everyone, including people that are wondering what is going on, why can't you just show TSA the form, pocket it, they X-ray it and that's all? Orlando did question the ammo in the same box as the gun (in an ammo wallet) but, let it go.........

All good information....We will be flying (American Airlines) from DFW to Orlando, Fl. next month. I want to take my Kel-Tec (to be pruchased this weekend at the Big Town Gun Show). I'll be using the car safe for the gun and have a small, made for ammo plastic case I would like to use for (7) rounds, now, if I put it (ammo) in the car safe, isth the gun and TSA doesn't like it, can I just have it in the same luggage or what? The luggage will be hard sided that uses a key lock.
Should I call American and ask them?
Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the information and pointers, I'll be getting one.....On a side note I went to the Frisco Gun Show (first one ever in Frisco)this past weekend at a new convention center there, real nice, until.......a vendor accidently discharged his firearm and shot a hole in their new carpet.......
Other than that a nice show.....
