This is a good point.

Yesterday at the range, I was thinking about this scenario. I always carry at least a short barrel five shooter and would be up a creek without a second gun.
I must admit, I have gone from carrying extra mags to a "just enough to back me out the door" mentality. I've adopted an attitude that, "If 14 rds can't get me out of trouble, I'm probably in more trouble than the pistol can extricate me from."

I'm going to have to go with photoman here. Since this thread, I've gone back to carrying a spare. There are just too many scenarios where the original load would be marginal at best.

I understand the want to quell the personal attacks against HEMIzygote, and that is for a good reason. However, I do not fault anybody FOR attacking, as when he authored the original thread, there was an immediate outpouring of sympathy and care for what he had to "go through". But after the members of this community that had connections within the media and law enforcement began to research this and were coming back with negative reports of this ever happening, it was like a stab in the back not only for the members who showed support and sympathy for him, but for the texaschlforum.com community and the state-wide CHL community as a whole.

Good point.

I have been keeping my wife in the loop on these developments and she threw out something that was an interesting diversion in thought. What if, HZ's presence here and the subsequent story were cultivated to gauge our reaction to such an event? I.E. psychological paper, news story, etc.

Remember, if someone IS out to get you, "paranoid" is just good thinking.

I have said this before to Charles...Given the horrible nature of the events described, I almost hope it is fabricated. It'll shake out eventually folks.

We are all curious, but I think we should refrain from speculation until we hear more details this evening. I can imagine a number of different ways this will go, none of which will likely be the truth. It is all speculation. Due to the truly serious nature of the topic, let's wait for more information.

I, for one, trust the moderators on this board, understand they had to limit conversation on the topic and believe that they will give us what they know when the time is right.

+1...besides the last time I commented on this, I killed the thread.
