Re: Carry at your place of business WITHOUT a CHL
The definition of "Premises" in 46.02 is: .(a-2) For purposes of this section, "premises" includes real property and a recreational vehicle that is being used as living quarters, regardless of whether that use is temporary or permanent. In this subsection, "recreational vehi...

Carry at your place of business WITHOUT a CHL
We are having a debate on another forum about carrying at your place of business WITHOUT a CHL. I've found the law that states an employee can only carry without a CHL when he is a licensed security guard (46.15.(b).(2)). However, can you carry, concealed, at your place of business if you are the ow...

Re: Employer says "NO!" to guns in cars.
I thought parking lots and sidewalks could not be posted, even at schools. School property postings cannot be enforced beyond the statute as they are government entities - and posting on government property is unenforceable. But there is no such restriction for private entities. They can post where...

I thought parking lots and sidewalks could not be posted, even at schools. Furthermore, I though 30.06 signs applied only to buildings.
So, criminally, you're doing nothing wrong, but since Texas is an "at will" state, you can still be fired if it's against company policy.

Re: Brother-in-Law Held up at Gunpoint
Trying to win a gunfight with two guns already drawn on you is a very very very low win rate bud...if you could distract them and then possibly get out of the line of fire maybe..but I would bet that it would have just initiated their attack on you I agree, and since hindsight is 20/20 we all know ...

Re: Brother-in-Law Held up at Gunpoint
First, I would think he need to be a little more a ware. The first plan of action to watch ones surroundings. I probably look crazy most of the time but am looking around were I am going and for places that someone might be hiding. Me too! If I'm out and about my head is always moving. My wife give...

Brother-in-Law Held up at Gunpoint
My BIL was traveling last week on the prowl for a job, which took him out of state. He was in Georgia getting gas, he walked in to pay then walked out to pump. AS he reached the pump he was "ambushed" by two BG's, one held a gun "inches from his head", the other positioned himsel...

Re: Martial Arts
Even for a martial artist, the knife situation is dicey at best. And, while I'm SURE there are those more skilled than I am, even after years of practice it is not an easy task...not at all like empty handed combat. Take a rubber or wooden knife and chalk the edge with colored carpenter's chalk. Fi...

Re: Quick Question about Castle Doctrine Law...
Regardless of CHL status, the handgun must be concealed in the car. I'm not sure of the legalities of having it physically on your person while in the car, someone else will have to answer that one. In the end - would it really matter? If you have it on your person and someone tries something just m...

Help Deciphering Georgia CCW Law
In March the family and I are taking a trip to Georgia to go to the Aquarium, Zoo and whatever else we can find to do. Naturally, wanting to make sure I was well informed of all the concealed laws in the states we would be passing through, I started researching the laws. All of the states are pretty...

HR 2604
This new bill, passed by the House, is a huge slap in the face to any soldier, past and present, that has put on a uniform and committed to laying his life on the line for this country. This country has a long past of treating the people who defend them with disdain and disgrace, and I am ashamed to...
