The way I see it, your gun is your responsibility. If you ever have to use it you'll want it to work. Clean it as often or as little as you want but just remember it's your life on the line. Nobody elses. That's why I ALWAYS fire off a round after a cleaning. I want to make sure it still works after I've taken it apart.

Also I forgot to mention, after every cleaning I take it outside and squeeze off a round just to make sure it works. I don't expect it not to but better safe than sorry.

I clean after every range trip and once a month if I haven't been to the range that month. Also, after it's rained I give the outside a good wipe down with an oiled rag.
