Re: Shield Gen 1 or 2?
Thumb safety or no? I can get the the safety version a little cheaper and I am used to carrying Glocks but I am also used to carrying 1911’s so my grip on my dominant hand is used to flagging high, ready to sweep the safety. I don’t like safeties on full size striker fired guns but don’t mind it on...

Re: Shield Gen 1 or 2?
2.0 has better grip and better trigger, worth it in my opinion.

Re: 9mm just as effective as .357 Mag. -- NOT!!!!
So, Lucky Gunner is your expert source, Charles? Really, I’m sorry you’re butthurt but I wasn’t accusing you of anything, just disagreeing during a cordial conversation. OK, sunshine? I feel pretty certain you are not capable of making Charles feel "butthurt". You did start out implying v...

Re: 9mm just as effective as .357 Mag. -- NOT!!!!
You’re not getting larger permanent cavities due to velocity in handguns, only rifles. You’re only advantage is penetration depth, sometimes too much penetration as experienced by PD using 357 Sig Gold Dots going through people. A very good friend was a surgeon before his untimely death. He disagre...

Re: 9mm just as effective as .357 Mag. -- NOT!!!!
It’s all good, brother. I agree that all the major calibers are only marginally better than the last concerning caliber effectiveness. Like you, I feel the 9mm is good enough. Shot placement and penetration are king. But if you’re going to compare the 9mm to the 357 Sig in the same weight, you have ...

Re: Updated Shield owners- help!
It is a sweet shooter, I don’t think it recoils any harder than the Ruger Lightweight Commander I had, and it’s very accurate.

Re: 9mm just as effective as .357 Mag. -- NOT!!!!
You either hit something important or you don’t. All the experts agree on this. What the experts agree on, is that shot placement is key and trumps caliber in MOST cases. And since no 2 bullets travel the exact same path in identical bodies, there is no way to precisely compare. A 1/16 of an inch h...

Re: 9mm just as effective as .357 Mag. -- NOT!!!!
A hit to the CNS, major blood vessel or heart puts all the pistol calibers on an even playing field, just as a miss does. According to this theory, a .22LR is as "efficient" in self-defense shootings as any centerfire handgun. That is absurd. Chas. I believe my “theory” is that you either...
