Re: LEO & CHL
Good for you and I'm glad that you got your job back. Too bad you can't sue the IG that messed up your life.[/quote] Thats one agency that is really above the law, no oversight and no one required any proof from them on the accusations they maintained before they issued their report and commenced to...

Re: LEO & CHL

I have been a Federal LEO for 17yrs when one of my fellow agents was raided at home by ATF, IG, FBI, and Local LEO for selling sensative and stolen govt. equipment on the internet and NFA viloations. During the investigation ...

Carry in Honduras
Does anyone have the info on applying for a Honduran firearm license? I know you can do it, I spoke to the embassy but they were unsure on the process. First would be an firearm importation permit with the Honduran Consulate, then apply with some dept in-country for a firearm license. Can anyone help?

Re: Questions about Connecticut CHL
I was a resident of CT for 18 years before moving to the Great State of Texas. Got my CT pistol permit when I turned 18 and I've renewed it every 5 years as a non-resident. I have never had any trouble getting or renewing my license(they send the renewal pack to my Texas address)but I got it as a re...

Re: July '08 Applications
Just mailed in my app. but lucky me I don't have to wait to carry, I still have my Connecticut non-resident license from when I lived there so all this is is extra insurance. Glad I had it, I don't know what I would do for four months.

Re: Lake Meredith carry
Unless they are licensed as a peace officer by TCLEOSE in the state of Texas they do not meet the definition of "Peace Officer" in Texas. The statue reads that you are required to display your license when a magistrate or peace officer demands. Federal Law Enforcement Officers are not cert...

Re: Lake Meredith carry
Looks good to me, so use good judgement and enjoy the disappearing lake and be thankful that it's not a COE lake. Now the question whether or not you are required to inform LE (NPS or TX P&W) that you are armed when they do a no-notice inspection of your vessel and you have not been stopped for ...

Re: Lake Meredith carry
The following is directly from the NPS Lake Meredith website, hopefully this will put this to rest. "It is unlawful to be in possession of a hand gun not being utilized as a primary hunting weapon (including a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun) during the entire hunting season in the...

Re: Lake Meredith carry
If you can tell me where those exceptions are in writting I would greatly appreciate it. I got into a long conversation over this subject with a Texas Parks and Wildlife Agent and he couldn't cite any document or current regulation. In the end of the conversation he agreed with me and promised to le...

Re: Lake Meredith carry
Did the ranger give you a basis or reference for this? Lake Mer. is not a COE lake, the lake is managed by the NPS and is classified as a National Recreation Area it therefore follows state law reguarding firearms possesion such as hunting. I've researched this and I have yet to find anything federa...

I have Connecticut Pistol Permit that I got when I turned 18 back in 1985. I always renewed it since it was only $35.00 for five years. I carry that in Texas since they honor it and there is no reqiurement for renewal training and its cheaper. I've been stopped for speeding once and the trooper ques...
