Closed-door negotiations and legal maneuvering delayed the Tuesday start of Maj. Nidal Hasan’s probable-cause hearing for last year’s massacre at a soldier readiness center.
Col. James L. Pohl, the presiding Army judge, stopped the hearing at midday so the Army psychiatrist’s defense team could file legal arguments to back their request for an even longer delay.
