Re: Kimbers and Warranty Work
I had the same problems with my new CDP II Pro Carry . I did some research on 1911forum.com, and then bought a new "X" recoil spring from Wolff springs, and it has run perfect ever since. So to all those who buy a new pro carry - try a new recoil spring before you contact a gunsmith or Kim...

1911 Collector's Question
One of my buddies has an old passed down 1911 and is curious about what its value might be.
Its made by Remington Rand, says United States property on the side, and the serial number starts with 133. Also the grip is brown but not wooden, it seems to be plastic. Thanks

Re: Spitting Kimber
If you are shooting a 4 inch, I highly reccomend a new recoil spring from Wolff springs. This will solve the classic new Kimber flu (fail to feed, fail to return to battery, brass in the face). It did for mine! From what I have read, the factory spring is of lesser quality and performs a little unde...

Re: Shooting age restrictions
I went to Red's Indoor range (south austin location) the other day with with my brother who is under 21 to shoot my new Kimber. Usually there's only a few sentences exchanged but this time they immediately asked for ID, and if we had been there before and what we would be shooting. They wouldnt let ...

Re: Non-Resident License While Awaiting Texas CHL
The Florida License is very hassle free. You simply order the paperwork from their government website, get your fingerprints done over at DPS, get a passport photo, a money order, and a copy of proof of any training with a firearm (hunter's education certificate, military training, NRA certification...

Re: FTF Pro Carry II
Not to discourage you but, I bought brand new Pro CDP II earlier this year and it's been terrible. I'm at about 700 rounds of Winchester white box and it still FTFs, and hits me in the face with brass regularly. If I dont clean it every one hundred rounds - it barely runs. I broke it in just as Kimb...

Mad? Confused? Thankful?
I figured I would share this story and here some thoughts on what others here might have thought and done. I was at a buddy's ranch in Wimberly this last summer, where I had quite an experience with the Sheriff's Department out there. There were about seven of us on the hundred acre ranch, with a to...

Re: How to locate past speeding tickets in small Texas towns?
I'm in a similar situation myself. Do these small town unpaid tickets create arrest warrants for those counties alone, or all over Texas?

Re: 1911 Magazines
My kimber Pro CDP hates hollow points. They get stuck on the feed ramp using anything but a Wilson Combat mag. However even with Wilsons I still cant shoot 200+ grain HPs.

I was told told by two different technicians at the DPS office that if you were not fingerprinted, to not even bother listing it.

Re: My experience as an assault victim.....
This is situation when (a CHLer or not) having a weapon stored in the car can end this type of sudden victimization very quickly or even save a life.
Glad to hear yall made it out okay.

Re: Reloading classes?????
This may help. Just choose Texas and then Metallic Cartridge Reloading. There may not be any in Houston but maybe somewhere close.
