I've been waiting for my background check since the 50's (days). Travis county is notoriously slow. I've been a little scared/confused about something that my "technician" has been saying. From what I gather, as a rule of thumb, if you have an arrest that is less than five years old, they perform an "investigative report", which is even more thorough than the standard checks. She said it could also take longer than 90 days from when they recieved all my materials. I dont want to believe her, because I was relying on that 90 days rule, but this makes me think she's right.
"...... if a question exists with respect to the accuracy of the application materials or the eligibility of the applicant, except that the department shall complete the record check and investigation not later than the
180th day after the date the department receives the application materials from the applicant."
